Fort Wayne Newcomer Services began in 1937 when a well known Fort Wayne, Indiana physician passed away. His wife, Marie Kane, having felt great gratitude towards the local community, decided that she wanted to give back in some way. Marie personally welcomed these new residents upon arriving to the area, and labeled them “newcomers”, consequently the Concept, “Newcomer Service” was born in the United States.
The Newcomer Services became very popular and spread throughout the nation. After more than 70 years, Fort Wayne Newcomer Services continues to uphold the same basic concepts Mrs. Kane’s originally developed.
